What year is the car you are thinking about buying?
The 1.9 Dci engine is not without its problems - failing turbos mainly and if the fuel pump fails then you can look forward to a very large repair bill indeed (between £1500 to £3000). The downside is that neither of these failures always happen on high milebage engines. Personally If you don't do big mileage there is very little to gain by buying a diesel.
I live in a wet part of the UK and from what I can gather from the motor trade in my area is, it's not if the top is going to leak but only a matter of when but that's a risk with most cabriolet cars.
