Re: Seeking advice on buying 2003 or newer Espace 2,0 petrol.

Hi, I have had my 2.0 litre petrol 2004 Espace for over three years now. Listen for a diesel sounding engine, a sure sign the dephaser puller is in need of replacing. If the seller is announcing the timing belt has been changed ask if the dephaser pulley was changed at the same time as it is amazing the numbers of dephaser pulleys that fail after being disturbed following the belt being changed.
Fuel consumption is not great, low 20's around town, low-mid 30's on the open road.
Take a look at the tyres to see what size they are, then check the availability of that size. Some came with rather odd sizes - a set of premium make tyres could sting you between 600 - 1000 (as at 2010).

There are some nice Espaces out there though.
