Re: Can I Still Buy a New Modus in Europe?
I thought there was an EU law that any member country had to supply left or right hand drive? Weren't Brits going over to Holland to buy cheaper RHD cars a few years back? I think they were still in profit after paying car duty on importation to the UK but minor specifications may have differed slightly.
You are thinking of parallel & grey personal imports.
Yes, if a RHD model is produced (or a LHD, for that matter), that configuration must be made available in whatever member state the vehicle is purchased.
But if (in this case), no RHD models are produced at all - the manufacturer cannot be compelled to produce one.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
