Re: renault 55plate handbrake

I'm assuming you've tried to release via the button on the dashboard as well as simply setting off for the auto release to work. There are a couple of threads regarding the faulty parking brake that describe a reset process via the button and a sequence of turning ignition on. Sorry you'll have to have a search around the previous threads.

Another idea is that if the vehicle has been off the road for a while the car battery may be low. A low battery will cause issues with the electronic parking brake. I had this issue even though everything worked ok and started fine, although my parking brake worked fine it threw up an error message on the dash.

Good luck
