Hmm sounds like someone had a right go at your car. Well all I can say is these modern cars are very sensitive electronic wise so may be more damage than meets the eye but you are right he has done really well. Well even a new battery can be low on charge so wont harm to stick some charge in it anyway.
OK once you have had a look around the threads I mentioned and had a go at resetting the brake it may be time to use the emergency release and take it to a dealer to have codes read. It may simply be a case of dealer resetting and it'll all work.
