Re: old technology

Coup - re engine cc's for performance didn't F1 teams somewhere in the Lotus years have the options of either 3000cc asperated or 1500cc turbo charged engines? so there is a substitute for cc's Hey you also had a V6 all that time ago well ahead of colin aka ccpkmd et al
In actual fact engine diagnostics is even older - but it was called a mechanics ear in the good old days.
Ralph - I agree and unfortunately its now necessary we are told that the electronics are necessary to keep economy up and emissions lower, besides controlling all the other creature comforts we can't do without Yes if only they'd reintroduce the Moggy like they did with the Mini. There's no denying that engines do run better with fuel injection though. In fact I think my Escort was the cheapest car ever to run . it'd break down so often it never got to do much mileage so running costs were minimal
Currently in Renoir White's garage:
Renault Trafic 1.7 Petrol Vauxhall Astra 1.4i & in bits Triumph Bonneville T140E & H-D XLH1200
