Possible Grande Espace Owner

Hi all

Firstly nice to be back on the forum as its been a while since my last Renault, a Laguna which was a great car

Anyway I have 4 children (5 if my wife gets her own way) so I need a 7 seater, a good mate of mine has a Grande Espace which he has offered in trade for my car as he does not need the 7 seats anymore

Its a 2002 2.2 DCI manual, Ive had a look over the bus and it seems to be ok, starts fine, no smoke and other than needing a service seems mechanically sound

Ive heard a few horror stories on the DCI lump so I am a little hesitant, my only concerns is there is oil splattered all over the engine and although the coolant is clean and blue inside the header tank is a little oily, Its done 137k and in the year he has had it he has not had it serviced although he says temp is always normal and it doesent use any fluids etc

Do I take the plunge or walk away? He is willing to let me drive it for a few days before I make my mind up as he is confident it is ok

My car is a Honda Accord 2002 Exec and has been fantastic and really only reason for parting with it is the lack of seats

Any advice would be great
