Question Emergency Parking Release Cable FAILED!

Hi. I have a 7seater Scenic II that's locked on the drive!
The parking brake is not operating on command and the release cable has no effect. (I pulled until the handle broke).
The parking fault warning is on (big help), the 25A fuse is intact and multi plug to the brake unit itself is not corroded; some reaction when dissed and reconnected but not much. My last resort is to cut the cables. Is there anything else I can do first?
