Angry Urgent: Fuel Cap on Renault Laguna cannot be opened

I drive a 2008 Laguna III and today my fuel cap just wouldn't open. Normally I just get out of the car and press the side of the fuel cover and it will spring open. This works when the car is unlocked and standing still.

Today it seems as if the mechanism inside is jammed. I tried to lever the flap open with my credit card but it just won't budge. I'm almost out of fuel and slightly panicked at the moment.

Is there a manual release latch anywhere? I know Laguna IIs have a latch just by the driver side tail light but I can't find one in my Laguna III. The manual seems to think that the door will just open manually.

If anyone could help it would be really good.
