Re: advice needed please

Independent Used Car Dealers often use small 'back-street- garages to do essential repairs or engine tuning to make a car ready for selling and these places usually work on a 'cash and no receipts' basis (a friend once ran a small showroom so I saw some 'tricks of the trade'). The attitude of your seller doesn't sound good. If you have paid a good price it may be worth paying for an AA/RAC inspection to out your mind at rest about the overall condition, or having the cam belt done at a decent garage and ask them to thoroughly inspect the car. As you run a Porsche you should know of a good garage. It is easy to get distracted from faults in the excitement of buying a 'new' car. If the car is what you want and it feels good otherwise then I think you should put the seller down to a bad experience and have the essential service repairs done, or resell it asap as a car 'you didn't like' in retrospect.
Currently in Renoir White's garage:
Renault Trafic 1.7 Petrol Vauxhall Astra 1.4i & in bits Triumph Bonneville T140E & H-D XLH1200
