Right, got the news sensor, fitted it, which was a job of moments and all is well.

Firstly, Inoticed that the new sensor's o-ring had a much tighter fit in the housing for the sensor, and fear the old one may have been leaking as a result.

Secondly, there has been no illumination of the light at all since, in two tanks worth of fuel. Thirdly, the avergae mielage has imprvoed a bit too.

The waife sinpoly does not like chaning gear and tends to stay in third gear a lot more than she should. Yes, I know this is bad, but her lack of mechanical sympathy is unlikely to change due to forum memebers' advice

Anyway, on checking the MPG display after her extended use of the car, it has risen a noticeable amount for town running in particular.

So, if you have a very annoying, intermittant and seemingly random appearance of the injection warning light and poor town MPG (mine seemed to be good on longer runs), then change your MAP sensor . They are cheap on eBay , take moments to fit and mightnwell sort your problem.
