I think there's issues with all makes of cars but I'd say your primary points for consideration are whether you are buying the car privately, from a used car dealer, or official Renault dealership, and what warranty's are offered. Also the mileage, No of previous owners, and if the car has a complete and honest service history. If the car has first class bodywork, is running like clockwork and you are going to keep the servicing on schedule then you should go ahead with confidence. Problems often arise from poor maintenance, jet washing the engine or blocked drainage holes, or using a car for unsuitable journeys eg a turbo diesel just to go to local shops and back.
