It is hardtop.
It is cheap(would want to be with that mileage, motorway or not)
The Karmann design does give it some exclusivity.
mho it does look better than the other meg II's and better than meg III convertibles.
Its kind of slow and heavy even in 1.6
All the servicing/repairs,i dont see any mention of the roof or transmission..
For the cash..with some negioation too maybe, you wont lose much if it doesnt work out, when the summer is over!
Get a pro check before buying?
How does it compare costwise in the UK to say..
a merc slk 200 of the 2004 era(2004-2011 model)?
Problems, aside from what Vel mentioned, most of the running gear should be similar to the reg 2004 meg II(4th best selling car in the Uk thru most of its lifetime Ive read.)
The service/repair action in the last 10-15k miles would in theory have cost over 1k so on the mileage most of this work has been done in the last 18 months, now it has to be sold....because to get the roof/transmission/electrics sorted will cost over a grand?
Still If I had 2k spare and it tested ok I might go for it.
