Are you sure you're qualified enough to question the validity of Smart repairs.
Do you understand the implications or removing a sill panel in regards to the longevity of the repair and disturbance to surrounding bodywork compared to pulling, filling and painting the original panel.

How were you going to fasten your sill to the existing bodywork in such a way that filler or a rub over with seam sealer wouldn't be used.

Even if cost was no concern,t's virtually impossible to replicate the the protection given to welded body panels when assembled at the factory.
Bolt on panels, fair enough, replace if needed.
Damage to large welded panels is better repaired if possible unless safey or structural weakness is a concern.

Your new panel and paint job would more likely end up looking tatty well before the repair method.
