Just had the car fixed again today by Renault. They said that the problem had been water getting into an electrical cable connector block which has now been repaired and sealed. They said they had now found the leak into the footwell as well. Hopefully all is now OK.
Have had to replace the entire exhaust, Cat and its sensor. Performance seems a lot better than before but still get the rattle as if the exhaust is touching the floor. The exhaust centre stated that there was plenty of clearance between the exhaust and floor pan and that the Cat may rattle initially but should settle down after a couple of weeks and if not they will have another look. I find that hard to believe. Has anyone been told about rattles in new Cats before as I have not heard of this except in worn out ones.
