To buy or not to buy...Grand Scenic 1.9 DCI

OK, After our first Renault GS 1.6 VVT had a bad gearbox, we were a little put off Renault. I also went to look at another GS car with a 1.9DCI with a new turbo fitted. We didnt buy this as we thought the seller was trying it on with money and we walked away. Long story...After a little research on the internet there are many problems or reports with the DCI suffering from turbo failures.

The one were looking now at is from a service/mot station with only 65K on the clock and apparently well serviced.

In theory the car should be ok. But after reading so many horror stories, we are put off!

Are they worth it, is it worth risking? No warranty wit the car so once we hand over the cash, will it be a disaster waiting to happen? The car is a 2005 Grand Scenic.

Any thoughts from owners, please move post if in wrong area?

Thanks, John
