I ain't certain Bruce but I think there may be two options in the Draper range - if my memory serves me correctly (not what is used to be) I think my local motor factors stocked two models of the Draper tool.
But your idea of making one up is excellent and cheap into the bargain. I have actually witnessed guys using a pair of pointy nosed pliers and it working successfully.

Thumbs up renault grand espace rear pad rattle

hi, just a footnote to replacing rear pads on year 1999/2000 shape models with bembro calipers, some of these models had a terrible rattle or suspension like noise from the rear of the car, took me ages to pin it down to rear pad rattle!!
renault could not solve the problem locally[surprise surprise],fault is caused by no anti-rattle springs on pads!! new oem pads should now have 4 springs and split pins to go into top of pad,[check with ebc picture on pads number d885] this has completely cured the rattle!!
i informed local renault franchise garage who were unaware of problem or cure, their original pads had no clips listed on the parts list!! i guess oem suppliers had some feedback and found their own solution!!

Another option is to use the Elise trick.
Buy some PTFE stick on spacers and pack the TRAILING edge of the pad with these.
Again Eliseparts will supply them, the cost a few quid (about 3?)

Excellent post Scouse, thanks for the time you spent in putting that together. Any idea what the distance between the pins on the rewind tool is? I don't really want to buy a complete tool set, just the right one for the job. Many thanks.

Or you can make one fairly easily. Just a piece of bar with two tapped holes with short set screws. Can remember the spacing but it is on one of the Elise boards somewhere.
I went to Elise and 10 quickly ramps up to 15 (3 delivery and then VAT on the whole lot), so maybe following Bruce's advice to make one up is the best route.

Can anyone tell me if it rewinds clockwise or counter-clockwise (2007 Espace)?
