Re: How to change front discs and pads(with pics)
Thanks for that very informative brake disc and pad replace tutorial.
Just a few questions:
1. I own a Clio III (Sept. '09 onwards) and the Haynes manual says to use a brake hose clamp to clamp down the flexible hose (to avoid damaging the ABS unit) and THEN push back the piston into the caliper - is this a MUST to do?? I've never done this on my previous cars. I do NOTE, however, that there IS a thin plastic-like tube which also comes off the brake caliper, on my Clio;
2. I have worked on all of my own cars (and now too on my 1994 Volvo 850SE) and push back the piston with a G-cramp, with that old brake pad still in it: wouldn't this be better than using the plumbing pliers, as it would wind up the piston, nice and squarely?
