Look to be spending about £350+ for timing belt (if at Renault dealer), but make sure whoever does it uses a cambelt KIT, as this contains the idle/tension rollers as well.
I'd agree with Horatio, good car with tarnished image and if looked after should give good service. Check all usual things in documentation (service history). Note that Renault recommend synthetic
for these engines to reduce
failure probs. Also delve thru forum, couple of silly things (rr axle bushes, front arm ball joints) also on these cars.
