Re: Scenic

Hi there and welcome.

I hope you did some investigation before buying the car, but if you didn't, most of what you need to know is here;

On the positive side, the cars seem to have been very well-designed for family life, spacious and very safe in the event of a collision, whilst being reasonably economical.

On the negative side, coil pack failure, window & central locking/keycard failures seem to occur, along with a recognised issue with the dashboard. The electronic parking brake is also an expensive ticking time bomb.

This doesn't of course mean that your car will suffer all these maladies, but it's wise to be aware of them, as they may be a trigger point in recognising when to sell it on.

The scenic is a popular car, so there are many threads (most offering a DIY fix), so I would invite you to utilise the search function and learn/benefit from the experiences and generosity of others.

On a side note, the car's cambelt should've been changed in 2012, if it hasn't, then that should be your first priority.

Happy motoring,

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
