There I go again, forgetting that Renault change their spec so often. I suppose by 2004, they'd got to that "the design's looking a bit tired, we'd better start throwing in some extras" stage. The state of play in 2002 (when I got my last one) was that you got it on some of the automatics, but I think only the Initiale got it as standard on a manual. I remember crossing my fingers that I'd get cruise, but while the Priv auto had it, the manual I was going for didn't

To be honest, I'm surprised cruise control isn't standard on all cars these days. All it takes is a few extra buttons on the steering wheel and/or dash, and some extra switches on the clutch and brake. The rest can be done with existing hardware and handled in the ECU 's software.
Currently in Horatio's garage:
2010 Laguna III Initiale.
