Hey, If its the steel cable you may be able to leave the rubber sheath from the old one and just slide the new steel cable through.

I managed to do this (mine was rusty and i had a sticky cable because of this!).

If not... it is tricky and fiddly but can be done.

Its easier with the air filter box removed so you can see a metal plate that goes along the back of the bulkhead this has a nut on 13mm IIRC take that off and the metal plate comes off.

If you look down the back of the engine you will see it til it disapears behind the brake master cylinder (looking down at it).
when this happens you need to get in from the wheel arch. (The plastic guard inside the wheel does come off and gives you access.

It may be easier with the wheel off but i've managed with the wheel on.
