Hi Leroy, yes I did ask the dealer and they were not much help, at first the said there was nothing special about the lamps, and when I mentioned the Anti-UV they stated as it was a Renault part it would conform.

We looked at the box which was the usual Renault grey and yellow. It did'nt say anything about Anti-UV, but the parts guy did state that there were 2 different part numbers for several of the lamps ... so they must be different .. maybe a "normal one and an Anti-UV"

The actual bulb was a Philips 12v 55W H1 U.

I took this to mean 12 volt 55watt fitting H1 .... U ..?

Dont know what the U means.

I think I may just spend the "little extra" and buy the Renault bulb for a reasonable 14.99 (not!) then get my head looked at!

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
