Smile Key Blip/No central locking

Was just picking my daughter up from school today and within 5 minutes of getting out of the car (Renault Laguna 95') and attempting to get back in everything went dead. The key fob batteries are ok cos I just changed them a month or so back and the signal is ok. As you are probably aware by not being able to transmit the code and open the doors the immobiliser also didn't work so have had to leave it in a carpark 15 minutes from home. Does anyone know how the immobiliser can be bypassed, or anyone can tell me why the above has occured? If I have to get the key reprogrammed (as seems to be the common cause after looking on the net) how much would this generally cost as I've seen quotes from 40-140.

Appreciate your help........................
