A 60% contribution on a clearly out of warranty van is much better than you have any right to expect. I understand that you are upset, but in terms of a legal challenge, Renault have shown that they have gone above and beyond their legal responsibility here. You will end up losing and footing the bill for that and the repair. Get it repaired, sell it and then you never have to own a Renault again if you choose, but try to look at the whole situation with a bit of realism.
