Obviously this is a safety system to prevent trapping fingers, hands etc. it forms part of the one touch up/down system for the windows. The one touch facility can be disabled by disconnecting the battery. The windows will then only inch up or down slowly when you press the buttons - not sure what happens to the anti pinch facility. You can easily reset the one touch facility by lowering the window and then keeping the button pressed for a few seconds.

Probably worth a try, although the windows only moving an inch or so at a time every time you press the button could get frustrating.
