You were lucky to get the engine replaced, maybe if we bought the thing new we would of had more luck.

That's a good point by coup, is the fault something that is common, or a rare occurrence at this mileage.

The next move may be to get an independent engineers report but of course then you are starting to spend money that you may not recoup.

I would be mad if I were the OP but I still think the best option is get it going and get shut.
