It could very well be one or more of those wires, if you put a volt meter across the two wires that go to the lock when the button is pressed you should get a short burst of 12v and pressing it again you should get the same but with the polarity reversed, if you don't get that then try the same from each wire to earth on the car trying both with lock unlock if one responds with a burst of 12 v the one that doesn't is broken somewhere likely your wires that looks iffy.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?
