how do i set the timming on my 16v 1600 renault scenic 2005 my belt broke and now i want to fit a new one please help me

I take you have checked for bent valves, etc?
To time the twin cam 16 valve engine you need a special kit.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
you will need to buy or make a cam shaft locking tool.
As Noel says you need to check the valves.
Though I guarantee you will have bent most of the valves
The valve stems are so weak the just get bent out of the way as the engine keeps turning.
I have repaired a 1.4 and 2.0 16v Scenic with belt failure. Both had bent between 12 and 14 valves
