yea looks nuts dont it and i was going to say you sure about the name as a salamanda was a old burner like a oil or parifin burner yes im showing my age now

I remmember them HOOCHY,we used to use them under the concrete floors to stop the frost doing the concrete in ,in the winteralways nice and warm where they were..
Currently in excavator's garage:
Had a 2003 Laguna Initiale sports Tourer 2.2dci..Now replaced with a 2011 Laguna Sports Tourer 2.0dci 150bhp Dynamique tom tom Initiale Lux pk.

Ahh its a "Scamander"

Looks a bit disappointing in action.
I thought maybe the wheels would fold up into those arches (Bond's lotus esprit) and then maybe jet propulsion(water jet) from the central tunnel.

Actually just a paddle boat. with front wheels as rudders.

Paddles also would have to be fitted just prior to taking to the water, and taken off before going back on the road.

A bladed/scythed wheel on yer chariot might have been usefull in roman times .It wouldnt be too popular with pedestrians or the local constabulary either

It was bothering me too !. Your sister in law's photo actually makes it look more like an exotic pre production model.
The google stuff is more "kit car".
