My clio broke down about a week ago and since this has happened it will not start. RAC came to look at it and failed to find a solution, petrol pump, immobiliser, starting motor have been checked and working fine. It turns over but fails to fire up and just goes dead. It is stuck on my drive and I dont know what to do!!!
Have you tried removing & cleaning the probe on the TDC sensor. Common no start problem
In a piston engine, top dead centre (TDC) is used to determine the position of a piston in which it is further from the crankshaft. This is used to determine when to generate a spark. Many Renault models appear to experience problems with the TDC sensor, but it is a simple and inexpensive part to replace.
Currently in hondo's garage: 1.6 Valve-Matic SR. Red hot, toasty feet.
