Exclamation Renault Megane 2 - Running Fault/Codes

Hello Fellow Renault lovers.

Newbie

I hope some one can assist me with a couple of issues i have with my new secondhand Renualt, which is driving me Crazy.

took the vehicle to Renualt and they gave me the following feedback after the vehicle started giving me problems.

P2502 - CHANGING SYSTEM VOLTAGE
P0325 - KNOCK SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT (BANK 1
UPSTREAM 02 SENSOR CIRCUIT
P0340 CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR "A" C

the issue with the car is as follows, when the vehicle is cold, it runs perfect, with the exeption of a wizzzzzz sound coming from the engine (and the car does not have a turbo)- i think this might be the dephaser pulley, but the car has power at this stage, until the heat reaches the normal running temp. then the issues start, the vehicle will just suddenly loose almost all power, if you push the clutch in and press down on the accelerator the car will rev. but if you drop the clutch again no power.

i have replaced the camshaft sensor myself- actualy very easy todo.

also replaced the coil pack and plugs with brand new ones.

tested it last night again after the sensor was replaced, and the car does the same as mentioned above.

could it be that the upstream sensor that gives the issue ?? when the car reach a certain heat it malfuntion ??

i would be so thankful if any one can assist, as this is driving me crazy

Re: Megane Engine issues

You don't mention whether you have tested or replaced the o2 sensor! A failed sensor can cause hesitation/surging in the power!

No i havent replaced this as yet planning to replace it ASAP, but could the upstream sensor be the problem, causing the issue of no power ?

Re: Megane Engine issues

One sensor failing can be a catalyst for others so it's not inconceivable that it's part of a wider problem! If duff information is being sent to the ECU then it could be trying to compensate but incorrectly.......it's all wizardry to me to be honest!

A failed o2 sensor can cause a rich fuel mix which, in turn, can knacker the catalytic converter, this could also cause a loss in power. You see, there are many reasons and you need to first start by curing the codes so to speak. You also need to ensure the codes are cleared once you believe everything is rectified.

Re: Megane Engine issues

thank you for the help sofar :-)

how do i test o2 sensor ?

might a damaged dephaser pulley also cause the vehicle to lose power when vehicle is hot ?

as the whole issue is only when the vehicle reach running temp. when the issues start - i am not sure how the Temp. of the vehicle can affect a sensor ?
