Hi mate does the key card rattle at all when you shake it??if it does then theres a possibility (like madnoel says)that you micro buttons have come adrift fronm the card, check out Garry at www.keyrepair.co.uk or ring him on 07527031512.he's good and not expensive for repairing keycards..

Wink Re: Scenic II keycard sync

I took a faulty Renault Scenic 2 key card apart today, (which is definitely not recommended), the battery holder contacts had come loose on the circuit board and that was causing the replace battery message, luckily I had already programmed a replacement key card to the car, because I made a bit of a mess trying to scalpel the old one apart all in the interest of science of course.
I see at least 4 failed cards every week, they are not very robust at all.

Re: Scenic II keycard sync

It's weird as I went to Arnold Clark Renault & bought a new battery & it's still working when it wants, keys will open it sometimes but straight after it will not lock & it takes me 10 mins of pressing the button like a man possessed until it works again. Arnold clark has quoted me 67 for it to be reprogrammed but I'm worried incase it still won't work. It's my only key.

Keycards can't be reset like the older type keys.

Does the keycard allow the car to start but not open the car. If so then it's possible the internal press buttons have come adrift - not an uncommon problem.
Apologies, this is the image of the keycard I have.

Re: Scenic II keycard sync

I went & got the car a diagnostics from today & it came up with 3 error's.

140) Vehicle moved with max parking brake applied

224) Battery Under Voltage

200) Release Switch Signal

Would any of these have any effect on the key? since they were cleared it seems to work 1st time.
