Replacing Heater Blower Fan Motor 2004 Renault Scenic II

Blower stopped working and was hoping it was just the 40 amp fuse, but no such luck as fuse is fine. Can anybody tell me how easy it is to replace a heater fan blower motor myself? Renault Dealer prices would require me to sell the house. Any help in terms of advice or links to instructions would be very much appreciated.

I find myself in the same situation. An independant Renault mechanic has said the dash needs to be removed and wiring looms replaced as a 'burn-out' is occuring. He quotes around £300; I haven't checked with Renault yet but I'm assuming they are a lot dearer. So likewise, any advice would be welcomed. Thanks!

Hi mate,
Joined the forum today to try to find out how easy it is to change the heater fan motor! Did you have any joy in sorting out yours? I was wondering if the whole dash has to come out or can it be accessed through the glove box!

My blowers have stopped aswell but i am still enquiring to find out what it exactly is, hopefully not the blower motor!
But to all of your questions i have a haynes and it says;

disconect the battery negative lead, and move the lead away from the battery.

Remove the glovebox.

Unclip and remove the air duct now visible

reach up behind the facia on the left hand side, release the catch at the top, then twist the body of the blower motor anti clockwise to release it, and withdraw it from under the fascia

when the motor is sufficiently removed, disconnect the blower motor wiring plug.

Refit by reversing the removal operations...
