Causes for fault code DF 089 ?

My 2.0 dci115 trafic started to "miss" now and again which gradually got worse over 3-4 weeks. Had dash lights on but a new MAF cured that. But now it's a splutter up through the gears and it only drivable if you can get it into 6th & keep it around 60mph. Going to try main dealer for diagnosis next week but wondered had any of you guys had an idea of what the code meant and maybe possible causes for the spluttering, ie injector, faulty pump,no pressure in rail. Does anyone know if these vans have a pump in the tank also?
Thanks
Aidy

Re: Causes for fault code DF 089 ?

On vehicles with Bosch injection systems code DF 089 = ''over/under voltage in the capacitor controlling the injectors''

Renaults remedy sounds expensive, replacing the vehicles computer etc

Hi Bobbydog, thanks for that. Would it be possible that the problem maybe caused by wire exposed by worn covering or water damage to tops of injectors? I know they are prone to water getting in though the bonnet vent/scuttle panel and dripping down onto the top of the engine? Mine was quite wet when i took of the plastic covering. I took the sponge out from underneath it as to my mind it was just preventing the water evaporating with the heat of the engine.
Thanks for your reply, trying to cover all angles before i start shelling out for any parts or labour. Much appreciated http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Causes for fault code DF 089 ?

TBH i ain't got a clue to its cause .

I just looked up fault code DF089 and its meaning/remedy according to Renault.

Out of interest what code reader did you use?

Renault fault codes usually begin with DF so i'm presuming you used CLIP or a quality alternative.

Mechanic & i brought van up the road to a(old school) guy who does bit of Auto electrical ie Alternators,Reconditioning etc. That was the only DF code he read out. I would have liked to have seen what it said for myself but didnt want to look like a know-it-all. It was About the size of a laptop with a touch-screen in the missle about 6x8 inches. My Mechanic did try a "Sealey" Machine(hand held) that threw up DF050 & 056 but we were oblivious to what they were. I got some Reference stuff in PDF format which looked like renault documentation. but someone said that different models meant different meanings for the codes.@
