Scenic II check handbrake

Hi I have an 04 grand scenic that according to the dash it has a fault although the brake seems that it comes on and is released. However it still says check handbrake. The battery needs replacing and it had to be jumped. I did think maybe I should take it to a garage to get the fault cleared. It did seem that on a hill the right brake released before the left.

Ideas?

Re: Scenic II check handbrake

I take you are referring to an electronioc handbrake. If so when the battery voltage drops the braking electronics will throw up a fault. If you haven't already done so it would be wise to have the battery sorted and the laternator checked before having the system reset.
