Megane Electric Window fault

hi there ppl,

new to this site tonight as I have just had a fault on my 2003 megane 1.4

just went out to the shop, come out of the shop and my front passenger window was in the down position.

Tried doing the 1 second memory lose trick but no joy, I then disconnected the battery to see if that would work, but still no joy.

neither window switch will work the window (passenger or driver side), all other windows are working correctly.

Could this be the 'window regulator' i have just read about on your site??

If so does anyone have a cost for replacement from renault (all fitted etc).

any help wouldbe great as my car now has bin bags over it to keep the rain out lol.

Hi mate defo sound like a 'window regulator' fault
not sure on the price and surrposed to be a bit of a fiddle job

progress report

i have now stripped off the door panel and got access to the window motor unit. as i am an electrician i did abit of dabbling and manged to get the window winder motor to work directly off a 12v supply, i unplugged the regulator unit that pushes into the top of the motor unit then put 12v striaght onto the terminal, i can now get the window up and down by doing this.

So it looks like the fault is on the regulator part, can you buy these solo without all the motor assembly?

Do you think this is my problem.
