I've got an S Reg Renault Scenic 1.9Dti with a blown turbo
which is set to go to a scrap dealers. However before it goes I want to recover the £50 worth of fuel that I'd just put in before the turbo
I've checked a few forums and concluded that as there is no drain-off valve it would be best to disconnect the inlet pipe from the fuel pump and let the fuel drain off that way. This method seemed to work at first and I got about a quarter of fuel out of the tank before it stopped. Now nothing further will come out. I suspect atmospheric pressure is not going to be enough to get the the rest of the fuel out. If if is the case I guess I'll need to obtain a handpump from somewhere.
Can someone confirm if I'm on the right track.
If I am on the right track could someone suggest where I can obtain a handpump from and ballpark figures on a price.
