Renault Megane I - What does this warning light mean?

I have a yellow warning light on my car. It came on about a week ago (I had an engine coil gone which I got replaced - this was just relaced by a local mechanic on the cheap rather than a proper dealer since he was quoting 3 times the price) I thought the light might be that and it would go away but it hasn't gone away. Unfortunately I didn't get the manual with the car. Should I go to a real dealer to get the light checked out? I heard that I also may jsut be able to reset it if it is connected to the coil - should I do this (could there be any drawbacks) and how would I do this?

It's a yellow light that is below the rev meter.

Its a Renault Megane 2001.

thanks,

D

If you register your car on Renault's website you can download a manual for your car

If you know your radio code, you could try disconnecting the battery for 45 mins. This should clear the fault code. If it comes on again, then you'll know that there is still a problem somewhere.
