Question Renault megane timing belt?

Hello
i have just bought renault megane II 1.6 2003
on the manufacture booklet it was showing that the timing belt should be changed each 72000 mile or 5 years.
the car has done 32000 ,what should i do ?

would be fine if i use the car for another 10000 mile which it would take about a year then change it?
cause the millage is important not the year ,am i right?

Hello, the interval is 5 years OR 72000 miles, whichever comes sooner. So in your case the belt replacement is due to time, not the mileage, regards Damian.

PS Get the water pump changed at the same time, and any aux. belts as well.
