grand scenic 1.6 "Check Emissions"

my 05 scenic has the following, Check emissions light on dash but is also suffering from a battery drain every other day it is flat are these 2 connected?? or unrelated issues

I am currently having the same problem with my car. It started in all the snow a couple of weeks ago. we had a flat battery so i jumped it off only for it to go flat again. i fitted a new battery and it went flat again again. i then booked it into a garage and he tested the diagnostics and it came up with the Tdc/Cam sensor. He cleared the fault and was unable to diagnose the drain on the battery. This is still on going. it still goes flat sometimes a week passes but then it lets you down a couple of times in the same day. I am going to have to bite the bullet eventually and book it into renault and pay £70 plus for them to tell me what is wrong with it. please let me know if you have managed to find the problem on yours. 	TDC TDC In a piston engine, top dead centre (TDC) is used to determine the position of a piston in which it is further from the crankshaft. This is used to determine when to generate a spark. Many Renault models appear to experience problems with the TDC sensor, but it is a simple and inexpensive part to replace.

with the boot or tailgate shut tip the rear seat backrest to see if the boot light is staying on (had this problem before) if it is take out bulb until you can replace boot switch

I have the same problem with my scenic. ''Check Emission'' light is always on and battery goes flat every second day. did you find it out what was problem?

the car has electronics instead of spark plugs and leads I changed the electronic version of the plug leads (sorry can't remember the name) my mechanic told me i was wasting my money and was very suprised when it worked from the date of post it is almost 2 years and i can say never had flat battery or warning light problem since
