Thumbs up Re: I am in need of the head bolt torque settings for a renault clio, 1.2, mk 2 1998

16V

...All cylinder head bolts must always be changed
after removal.
Do not oil the new bolts.

Tightening torques are expressed in decaNewton
metres (daNm)
Reminder: 1 daNm = 1.02 m.kg.
>>> Bloo*y French!

Tighten all the bolts to 2 daNm±0.2 daNm.

Check that all the bolts are tightened to 2 daNm, then
angle tighten (bolt by bolt) by 230***730;±6***730;.

Do not retighten the cylinder head bolts after
performing this procedure.

The pattern for this is spiraling out from Middle bolt (1). over Exhaust Mani, to (10) over Inlet Mani - furthest from cambelt.

1.2 8 valve is as follows....

Tighten bolts in order....

8 4 1 5 9
7 3 2 6 10 (engine flywheel this side).

First stage is 20Nm

Second Stage is 90 degrees.

Wait 3 minutes (I don't you need to be too accurate with the time,a few minutes or time to have a cup of tea would do.).

Then slacken off bolts 1 and 2,tighten to 20Nm then 200 degrees.

Repeat with bolts 3,4,5,6 and then 7,8,9,10.

Job done.
