Hi any ideas ?
i have just had the rear crank seal replaced due to it leaking a bit of oil
the mechanic said to me the crank had marks on it so he knocked the seal in another 1mm
3 days on and the leak is as bad as ever
have spoken to the mechanic and he said this is a common fault on these vans they have 4 of them (nissan primastars 1.9) and all of them leak here
what can be done ?

took the van back to mechanic yesterday so he could check it was definatly still leaking "it is" when i asked about the marks on the crank he said the seal has polished it as opposed to worn grooves but neverless this is still enough to reduce the size of the crank and make the seal leak
can an oil leak really make my engine beyond economical repair?
has any other trafic, vivaro or primastar owners had this also? common problem
