Scenic Timing belt or chain?

Does my 2005 1.9 Dci scenic have a cam belt or chain? And if so do what date/mileage would it need changing?

Cheers

Re: Scenic Timing belt or chain?

If anything like my 2006 1.6dci it will have a cambelt and will need changing at 72000miles or 5 years.....sooner rather than later. My Haynes manual has grown legs and walked off somewhere, I seem to remember it covered both 1.9 and 1.6 dci engines.

Re: Scenic Timing belt or chain?

The 1.9dci engine is cambelt driven. Only the newer 2.0dci and the 3.0dci engines are chain driven IIRC.
