Scenic not locking - sensor says passenger door open

All the doors and the boot are tight shut but my dash indicates the passanger door is open, so the vehicle won't lock.

I've found a few similar posts, one instructing to try cleaning sensors. The problem is that I'm not sure what the sensors look like.

Are the door sensors accessible without removing door panels and the like?

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

In that case it will not have the conventional plungers to activate / deactivate the lights, like older cars.

Instead the lock has a solenoid built into it that serves this purpose. I think your going to have to take the door card off to get at it and give the locking mechanism and dose of wd40 or the like.
