mot failure on lambda sensor

Hi there, i have a big problem with my 95 clio. Its wont pass its mot because of the lambda reading is a tad to high.
Reading is 0.970-1.030
Actual reading is 1.318
Everything else is perfect and no leaks in exhaust. The thing is that its had an engine swap but kept old lambda sensor in. The old engine had a blown head cyclinder so swapped engine as it was like coal coming out the exhaust. I was perhaps thinking the sensor could do with a good clean but i dont know if this would help or not? Is it worth while getting another one from the scrapys? 3 times its failed with the same problem. KwikFit said put cataclean in it then give it a good kicking then take it back but nothing. What do i do???? Many Thanks for any help
