Exclamation Espace 2005 2.2dci Coolant Water Leaking

This is my first post and really would appreciate some advice.

My 2.2dci (2005) seems to be leaking water from the clear plastic water/coolant refill tank.

Here's what's happening:

When I'm driving the car, the the small water hose pushes water into the clear header tank (if that's what its called), and once the car is nice and warm the water gushes out from under the cap no matter how tight it is.

I thought it might be the cap (lid), so got it replaced - no change.

So I got it serviced in Walsall (Just Renault) in case they could help - they just said it 'might' be the head or head gasket but unsure.

The thing is that it's not overheating at all, which I thought was a sign of head problems. Also I cant see oil in the water nor water on the dip stick... or is that not a necessary sign?

When the car is idle and not driving, the interior heating seems not to work (though the interior fans are working), but I get just cold air - when I drive around town, its better, but not as hot as I'm used to when I first had the car.

Recently the alternator failed on me (the day after the service in Walsall!) - got that replaced a week ago and was told by the mechanic that it was a water cooler alternator. Ahaa! I thought, maybe that's related to the water coolant header tank. I have to say, since then I've seen no water come out of the header/refill tank, but I can still see the small hose delivering water (I presume very hot water) into the header tank and that makes me nervous because I assume its going to blow water out again under the cap. And its still blowing cold air into the interior of the car intead of hot when stationary.

And as I said that the temerature gauge is not showing any overheating at all and never has.

Am I imaging things? Did the change of alternator solve the problem or is it completely unrelated?

Could it be the head gasket?

I had the engine replaced about four months ago and I've been noticing the water 'blow' problem for about a month now and not for a week since alternator change. But the fans are not heating the cabin unless I'm driving around. Is that related?

Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. If you need clarification, please ask.

Walam.
