timing belt idler

hi,changing the timing belt on my 95 espace 2.1td and got the full kit including tensioner and new idler wheel/bearing assy.cant see how the idler comes off.does it need to been driven off from rear of brkt or need to be pulled off from the front.anyone done this job?any info or advise would be much appreciated.
