Clio 2 egr fault (recurring) 2004 1.5dci

Sorry if this has been covered but i couldnt find anything. I have replaced the EGR valve and cleaned all the muck out of the pipework associated with it. However the same symptoms keep occuring, loss of power below 3500rpm, poor fuel economy etc. The glow plugs have also been replaced in the last week.

Any ideas as to what may be the cause of this as it is getting a little frustrating.

Many thanks
James

Have you any warning lights on the dash plus any signs of either black smoke when accelerating or white smoke whilst starting.

No, thats whats confusing me, there are no warning lights up and no smoke that i have noticed. Its just all or nothing with the car and its getting very annoying.

It seems to clear itself up overnight and can drive fine for anything upto 150 which is my drive into work, then to come home twelve hours later it has nothing untill around 3500 rpm then its like somone has let slip the dogs of war. It will not cruise at anything over 60mph.

I hope this helps.

One posibilty could be a faulty turbo sensor although this usually affects acceleration dramatically.
