Suspension/drive shaft/cv joint problems

Hi,

I have a Renault Megane 1.6 (2006 model). It is a 2nd hand car that I bought and I have no history about the car.

The problem is that when I go over a speed hump or grove on the road, I feel a shudder on the steering. It feels like something is loose or is broken at the front part of the suspension.

I have taken it to Renault who says that the drive shafts need to be replaced.

I have taken it to a local garage say that the front shocks and springs needs to be replaced. They also say tha the CV joints needs to be re-conditioned/replaced.

This all costs a lot of money and it is strange to be problematic on a 2006 model vehicle. Not Renault nor the local garage can pin-point the exact fault. Any idea on what could possibly be wrong?
